The Arduino Mega 2560 Rev3 is compatible with most shields designed for:

• Arduino Uno

Revision 3 introduces the 1.0 pinout, which adds SDA and SCL pins near the AREF pin and includes the IOREF pin, allowing shields to adapt automatically to the operating voltage (5V or 3.3V).
