Description
Programming the D1 Mini Pro is straightforward. The board includes a built-in micro-USB interface, allowing it to be programmed directly from the Arduino IDE without any additional hardware. Simply install ESP8266 board support via the Arduino Board Manager and start developing.
The D1 Mini Pro is fully compatible with WeMos shield modules, enabling easy expansion similar to the Arduino ecosystem. A wide range of plug-and-play shields is available, allowing you to add displays, sensors, relays, motor drivers, and more. The board ships with header pins (soldering required) so shields can be easily attached or removed.
Compared to the standard D1 Mini, the D1 Mini Pro offers significantly more flash memory (16MB) and supports both a built-in ceramic antenna and an external antenna connector for improved wireless range. It also features the modern CP2104 USB-to-UART chip for reliable USB communication. Despite its enhanced features, it remains the same size as the D1 Mini, while being lighter.
